Katherine Rein’s Farewell

Hello! I am Katherine Rein. I am finishing my master’s program this spring at Boston University in Applied Data Analytics. This was my first time working in the clean energy field and my third internship. My focus has always been on the intersection between data and the environment, thanks to my undergraduate degree in environmental science and my love of the outdoors.

My role at All in Energy has focused on Data Operations. My main project this spring has been updating and reinventing the Community First Partnership Dashboard Spreadsheets to help local energy advocates understand and track their outreach progress.

My biggest challenge was securely and automatically getting the data from Salesforce into Google Sheets to create these spreadsheets. This allowed me to brush up on my SQL to help create queries and learn more about different Google Sheets formulas such as let and query.

Working with the Data and Product team allowed me to gain experience as a coworker within the data space and practice time management. Learning to juggle multiple projects within one team has been a great learning opportunity. Working with multiple calendars, working hours, and personalities expanded my flexibility and organizational tools.

I am incredibly grateful for my time at All in Energy and will carry the skills and lessons learned into future careers in the clean energy field. This summer will be spent job searching and planning out my next steps for post grad. Thank you to All in Energy team for a great semester and I look forward to future collaboration!
