What are the benefits of a Home Energy Assessment?

There are benefits available for residents of all income levels.

  • 75%-100%  off approved insulation and air sealing upgrades
  • Up to $8,500 in heat pump rebates
  • 0% financing for energy efficiency upgrades, including heat pumps.
  • No-cost energy and water saving products such as low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators and programmable thermostats or discounts on smart thermostats.

What if I’ve already had a Home Energy Assessment?

  • Renters and owners in 1-4 unit buildings are eligible for a Home Energy Assessment every two years.
  • There are other Community Energy Programs available for Cambridge residents. Electrify Cambridge supports homeowners, condo owners, and residential building owners to plan for home electrification.
  • Anyone that pays gas or electric bills in Cambridge can schedule an Energy Bill Check Up for support understanding your bill and identifying ways to reduce energy costs.

What if my landlord isn’t interested in a Home Energy Assessment?

  • If you rent in a 1-4 unit building, you can schedule the assessment yourself. After the assessment, SeeAir can support you to engage your landlord and support them to take action.
  • If you would like additional support engaging your landlord, email the Cambridge Energy Helpline cambridge@allinenergy.org

Cambridge is participating in the Mass Save Community First Partnership, offered locally by Eversource, to increase participation in energy efficiency programs.
