Methuen Saves Energy

This past year the City of Methuen became a Massachusetts Green Community and set a goal of reducing its energy usage and carbon emissions at municipal facilities by 20% over five years. The City is committed to saving energy and money by making our buildings more efficient. Now, in 2020, Methuen has joined with regional utilities National Grid and Columbia Gas through a Mass Save Municipal Partnership to promote energy conservation and efficiency improvements in homes and small businesses.

You and your family can save money, reduce our community’s carbon footprint and work toward a more environmental-
friendly energy future by taking advantage of Massachusetts' nation-leading energy-efficiency program, Mass Save. The City of Methuen is partnered with All In Energy, a Massachusetts-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to help connect families and businesses to the Mass Save program.

Small business owners can get started with the Mass Save Small Business Program here.

Renters, homeowners and landlords in buildings with 1-4 units can get started by signing up for no-cost Home Energy Assessment. An Energy Specialist will do a complete checkup of your home, install instant savings measures at no-cost, and recommend ways you can use less energy, save money, and make your home more comfortable. These services are funded by the "energy efficiency" charge on your utility bill - we want to help you access the benefits you already pay for!

During the assessment, an Energy Specialist will install eligible instant energy saving measures, such as LED light bulbs to replace incandescent bulbs, high efficiency shower heads and faucet aerators, a programmable thermostat, and advanced power strips - at no cost.
