Home Energy Assessments

The City of Cambridge is partnered with All In Energy to help renters and property owners save money and energy while making their homes more comfortable year-round.

Renters, owners and landlords of single-family homes, apartments or condos in buildings with 1-4 units can participate today by scheduling a no-cost Mass Save® Home Energy Assessment with All In Energy’s Mass Save partner, SeeAir. Fill out the form below.

How does the no-cost

Home Energy Assessment work?

In-Person Home Energy Assessment

During an in-person assessment a certified Energy Specialist will visit your home to identify opportunities to save energy, including:
- Performing a safety check of your heating system
- Installing eligible energy- and water-saving devices
- Assessing the potential to improve air sealing or insulation in your walls, attic and basement.
Afterwards, you will have the option to review the Mass Save recommendations and eligible incentives on a 30-minute zoom session.

Virtual Home Energy Assessment

During a virtual energy assessment, you will scan your home through the SeeAir App. The app will guide you through recording your floorplan and taking the necessary photos around the house.
During your scheduled 30-minute Zoom session, a certified Energy Specialist will walk through Mass Save recommendations and eligible incentives for your home.

What are the benefits of a Home Energy Assessment?

75%-100% off approved insulation and air sealing upgrades
Up to $8,500 in heat pump rebates
0% financing for energy efficiency upgrades, including heat pumps.
No-cost energy and water saving products such as low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators and programmable thermostats or discounts on smart thermostats.
Based on your income, or on your tenants’ income if you own a multi-unit building, you may qualify for additional benefits through the Income Eligible Program. Click here to see if you qualify for additional income-based assistance.

What if I’ve already had a Home Energy Assessment?

Renters and owners in 1-4 unit buildings are eligible for a Home Energy Assessment every two years.
There are other Community Energy Programs available for Cambridge residents. Electrify Cambridge supports homeowners, condo owners, and residential building owners to plan for home electrification.
Anyone that pays gas or electric bills in Cambridge can schedule an Energy Bill Check-Up for support understanding your bill and identifying ways to reduce energy costs.

Owners of single family homes and 2-4 unit buildings can schedule a Home Energy Assessment.
Renters and condo owners in 1-4 unit buildings can schedule an assessment for their unit.
Owners or condo boards of 5+ unit buildings can schedule an assessment here.
Renters and individual unit condo owners in 5+ unit buildings must engage their landlord or condo board to schedule an assessment.

What if my landlord isn’t interested in a Home Energy Assessment?

If you rent in a 1-4 unit building, you can schedule the assessment without involving your landlord. After the assessment, SeeAir can support you to engage your landlord and support them to take action.
